About
PlushOnScreen is a community-curated database tracking the appearances of IKEA plush toys in movies, TV, music videos, and more. It started with one absurdly photogenic green snake — the Djungelorm — and grew from there.
It's a fan project. Not affiliated with IKEA in any way. Just people who keep noticing the same plushie show up in the background of things and can't let it go.
Spotted one? Submit it
There are two ways to add a sighting, depending on how comfortable you are with GitHub:
1. The easy way — fill out a form. No coding needed. Just answer a few questions and we'll handle the rest.
2. The direct way — open a pull request.
If you know your way around git, add a markdown file under
src/content/sightings/<plush-id>/
with the screenshot in that folder's images/ directory, and
open a PR. The schema in
src/content.config.ts
shows every field. This gets your sighting live the fastest.
What makes a good entry
A screenshot is the single most important thing — this is a visual catalogue, so a clear still of the plush on screen is gold. Beyond that: the title and year, roughly where in the runtime it shows up (a timestamp), and a sentence describing the scene. A clip link is a bonus.
